About Us

Our History

Centrogen Pty Ltd commenced operations trading as Specialist Consulting Services Pty Ltd in the Burdekin area of North Queensland in September 1979.

Since that time, the business has continued to grow with well established depots and Contract Managers now operating from Townsville, Brisbane, Cairns, Dubbo, Sydney and Perth.

Our extensive experience has allowed us to deliver a range of environmental services to the Department of Defence, Department of Main Roads, rail maintenance providers, various mine sites and other quality clients.

Our Values

As a socially and environmentally conscious company, Centrogen is committed to providing environmental education and weed management training, empowering others to contribute to biodiversity conservation. We routinely develop and present weed management training and informative materials at field days and in community newsletters to build weed management awareness and skills in the community.

Our People

Centrogen Contract Managers have been carefully selected based on their skills, education and experience. This includes tertiary qualifications in a range of environmental disciplines including Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Resource Management, Diplomas in Conservation, Land Management and other related courses.

All employees are encouraged to further their studies with support from the company. In order to remain current, we promote ongoing education and training for our staff with an emphasis on Conservation and Land Management, Horticulture and Agricultural qualifications.

All qualified employees possess accreditations for herbicide application as well as appropriate traffic control licenses and machinery tickets.

Centrogen team members have years of practical field experience supporting their technical skills. This combination of research based and on-ground training ensures Centrogen develops and manages effective, practical and safe projects at all times.

Centrogen also promotes knowledge transfer between its employees and local environmental community groups, landholders and Government bodies, by regularly attending and presenting at field days and seminars.
